Biking In Culver City

Children biking

City of Culver City is making Culver City an even better place to ride bikes.

In addition to three popular bike paths, more on-street bike lanes are being added to help bikers get around town easily and safely.

As part of our active improvement projects, we are providing Culver City residents and students with safer routes and safety programs to help them be more confident and safe when biking and walking.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan

Bicycle Traffic Signals

Several bicycle traffic signals have been installed along Culver and Culver City Washington Boulevards as part of Move Culver City.

Bicycle signal faces may be utilized at signalized intersections as specified in California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA-MUTCD) section 4D.104. The CA-MUTCD states that bicycle signal faces cannot interfere with other motor vehicle movements, including right turns on red. This means that when the bicycle light is green, a cyclist has an exclusive, protected phase to proceed through the intersection, and when the bicycle light is red, a cyclist should stop as other vehicle movements (right and left turns across the bike path) are allowed.
